A guided immersion through solitary panoramas, unusual nature, and literary memories.

The territory

A sweeping loop itinerary that crosses one of the most authentic and wild faces of the Alta Langa.

Our journey begins on the panoramic hill of Montemarino, reaching the Pian del Mondo plateau: a privileged vantage point that offers a wide and thrilling bird’s-eye view over the Belbo and Grazie valleys.

Immersed in the tranquility of a dense pine forest, we will walk along the ridge before gradually descending toward the valley, where the ancient Monastery of the Grazie once stood.

Here we will tackle an evocative crossing of the Rio delle Grazie, a refreshing passage before beginning the climb back up toward the hill of San Bovo.

This stage surprises with its unique microclimate: the vegetation thins out and changes character, transforming into a lush greenery with the flavor of Mediterranean scrub, entirely unexpected at these latitudes.

Once we reach the characteristic little church of San Bovo, we will resume our walk along a wooded ridge punctuated by spectacular panoramic openings.

The final part of the route will lead us through the memories of Borgata Pavaglione, a symbolic place in the narratives of Beppe Fenoglio, where the stories told by the writer blend with the deep identity of these lands.

Return to the cars with the opportunity to share a final moment of conviviality.

Who it is for: hikers accustomed to walking medium distances, eager to combine nature, local storytelling, and moments of sharing.

The route takes place largely in a shaded environment with very panoramic openings.

Program

Meeting at 9:45 AM at Montemarino di Borgomale c/o Santissima Annunziata Church, Provinciale 230 (from Frazione Manera di Benevello, follow signs for Via Montemarino c/o the church parking lot).

Departure 10:00 am.

Packed lunch break in a suggestive location immersed in nature.

Return to the cars at approximately 4:00 PM (duration includes panoramic stops, guide explanations, and lunch break).
