The experience
A Ferragosto different from the usual, far from the hustle and bustle and immersed in the most pristine nature of the Alta Langa.
A zero-impact loop route for the spirit, combining the coolness of the woods with the horizons as far as the eye can see of the high ridges, before meeting all together around a laid table.
The program and the stages
Departure from Cravanzana
In the heart of the hazelnut, the adventure starts from the capital of the Tonda Gentile Hazelnut.
We set off in the morning light, leaving the village behind to walk the paths that, like panoramic balconies, overlook the Bormida Valley
The outward journey in the woods: Mule tracks, stone walls, and the country chapel.
The path towards Feisoglio welcomes us with the beneficial shade of chestnut and oak woods.
We walk on the historic mule tracks, bordered by majestic dry-stone walls and ancient stone hamlets where time seems to have stood still.
On the way, a regenerating stop at the suggestive country chapel (San Rocco / San Sebastiano), an oasis of total silence and contemplation.
Stage in Feisoglio
The turning point: We reach Feisoglio for a brief technical stop and to admire the typical architecture of this high-hill village, before undertaking the return journey.
The return on the ridge: spectacle and infinite horizons.
The return path to Cravanzana completely changes scenery.
We climb onto the ridge line: here the woods open up and give way to an extraordinary panoramic path.
The gaze ranges over the hills combed by hazelnut groves, the deep valleys of the Alta Langa and, on clear days, the entire Alpine arc.
It is the moment when fatigue gives way to pure wonder.
The grand finale in Cravanzana: the Ferragosto Merenda Sinoira upon return to Cravanzana, the walk turns into a celebration!
A rich and convivial Merenda Sinoira awaits us (return expected by 4:30 PM, followed by the snack, upon reservation as indicated).
Upon return, those who wish can celebrate the special day of Ferragosto with us, away from crowded places, in an atmosphere of simplicity and conviviality: after the walk, a beautiful merenda sinoira by Graziella is planned. A return to authentic and special things.
