Autumn colors and hues on the hills of ancient villages and great wines

A world of vineyards, a world of history, a sea of colors: Terre Alte offers you a day’s walk among renowned vineyards… historic villages and panoramic towers in the heart of the Langa del Barbaresco.

The route

The excursion begins from the historic center of Neive, considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, and unfolds among the prized vineyards of panoramic crests.

From the silent crests, on clear days, the view opens onto a sea of hills and the gaze sweeps across the Langhe, Roero, and the Alpine arc. On these hills the scent of autumn smells of must, of cellar and vineyard, and the villages hold the story of a thousand-year history.

Arriving in Barbaresco we will visit the historic center characterized by a single main street onto which face the most important historic buildings and the renowned wine estates (in full activity).

The medieval tower that rises at the edge of the village is open to visitors, as is the Enoteca Regionale del Barbaresco, an important reference point for wine enthusiasts.

We will return after the lunch break to Neive completing a loop of great scenic interest that will allow us to admire the vibrant autumn colors of the vineyards.

Upon returning to Neive we will visit the elegant historic center characterized by refined buildings that belonged to noble families, and for those who wish it is possible to visit the Town Tower, opened to visitors just a few months ago.

The Tower, of medieval origin, became the symbol of autonomy in the period of the Free Communes, “demolished many times and always rebuilt taller”. From the top of the tower you can enjoy an unparalleled view!

Suitable for cheerful people, groups of friends, families with children from 7 years up (accustomed to walking), singles, couples…..and all those who wish to spend a Sunday in the open air and admire stunning views.

Territorial wines and conviviality

During the lunch break you can taste a glass of wine at the establishments in Barbaresco and at the Enoteca Regionale or/and upon return enjoy a relaxing pause and taste the wines of the territory at the Bottega Comunale dei 4 Vini or in the delightful establishments of the historic center.

Meeting at 9:45 AM at Neive, Cemetery square.

Departure 10:00 am.

Free lunch break with packed lunch or at a wine bar in Barbaresco (reservation recommended), maximum stop time: 50 min

Return in the afternoon to Neive.
