We’ve now reached the 40th edition of Vinum<\/a>, the National Fair of wines in the Langhe, Roero and Monferrato which opens on the 23rd of April<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

For two consecutive weekends<\/strong>, from 23 to 25 April and from 30 April to 1 May, the streets of Alba will be swarming with tourists, enthusiasts, gourmets and onlookers who will have a chance to taste the best wines produced from these hills<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

There are numerous events designed to celebrate this important milestone! Let’s have a look at the main ones.<\/p>\n

Tastings of wines and local products<\/h2>\n
\"Roero<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n

Walking along the town center streets you’ll come across numerous tasting points<\/strong> which will give you a chance to sample the great Langhe, Roero and Monferrato wines<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

And of course you’ll also find the prestigious Piedmont <\/strong>cheeses<\/a>, paired with wines by the Ais Sommelier<\/strong> (Italian Sommelier Association) and by the Onaf (National Cheese Tasters Organization<\/strong>) tasters from the province of Cuneo.<\/p>\n

In order to taste the wines, cheeses and other products like grappas<\/a> you need to\u00a0purchase a book of tastings tickets<\/strong>, which includes a glass, glass carrying pocket and discounts for the museum visits.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, walking around town you’ll find numerous Street Food \u00ebd Langa\u00ae<\/a> stands, ideal to sample the territory’s delights, and the Mercato della Terra (Earth market)<\/a> with its 0km products.<\/p>\n

For those who prefer the tranquility and the convenience of a restaurant<\/strong>, you can visit this page<\/a> which provides a small selection of restaurants in the Langhe.<\/p>\n

Cultural events<\/h2>\n
\"Underground<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n

On Friday April 22<\/strong> the Alba Film Festival will be inaugurated<\/a>. The Festival will be holding exhibitions and screenings<\/strong> at the Cortile della Maddalena, Beppe Fenoglio Auditorium, the adjoining Halls and the Coro.<\/p>\n

Instead, if you’d like to discover the history of this ancient city<\/strong> and visit the Roman ruins we recommend you take the Underground Alba<\/a> tour, a guided tour by a professional archeologist<\/strong> in the underground city. The tours are available by booking<\/strong> and cost 10\u20ac, from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.. Visit this page<\/a> for bookings and info.<\/p>\n

And finally, take advantage of this opportunity to visit an original itinerary<\/strong> dedicated to the works by Pinot Gallizio<\/a> found throughout the town’s municipal open spaces. The tour lasts an hour and will begin at 4 p.m. on Sunday April 24th and Sunday the 1st of May.<\/p>\n

Vinum for the little ones<\/h3>\n

“Because wine isn’t just a grown-ups thing.” Play areas<\/strong> will be set up with handcrafted wooden toys that will allow children to learn while having fun<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Via the creation of their own vineyard, the transformation of grapes into wine, and right up to the bottling, they’ll learn to know and understand the entire wine cycle<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Walks and outdoor relaxation<\/h2>\n

Or, immerse yourselves in the vineyards<\/strong> for a quiet stroll<\/strong> dedicated to Barolo, on the great wine trail; a tourist route on the historic hillsides.<\/p>\n

In Barolo<\/strong> you’ll find the Cantina Francesco Borgogno<\/a>\u00a0(content available only in Italian) winery, a family-run company with a strong traditionalist<\/strong> character.<\/p>\n

In Orto Smeraldo<\/a>\u00a0(content available only in Italian) di Guarene, aside from the Langhe wines, you can try the first Madernassa pear cider<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In Roero<\/h3>\n

The Moretti family looks forward to seeing you at Monteu Roero<\/strong> for a visit to the Bajaj company<\/a>\u00a0(content available only in Italian) where, in addition to the wines, you can try the jams<\/strong>, fruit juices<\/strong> and other products.<\/p>\n

In Vezza d’Alba<\/strong>\u00a0the Azienda Agricola Fabizio Battaglino<\/a>\u00a0(content available only in Italian) farm, which produces the great Roero wines<\/strong>, looks forward to seeing you.<\/p>\n

In the Dogliani\u00a0area you’ll find the C\u00e0 Neuva<\/a> (content available only in Italian) company, a typical Langa winery<\/strong> that produces traditional wines and Bricco del Cuc\u00f9 (content available only in Italian) owned by the Sciolla family<\/strong>, which will surprise you with their Dolcetto and Merlot wines<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
