I would add that a walk to some particularly evocative place<\/strong> can help you prepare and warm the spirit of the evening.<\/p>\n\n

These suggestions apply both to those in the Langhe on vacation<\/strong> and to “natives<\/strong>” who may not yet have explored all that can be explored.<\/p>\n\n

A walk at “Cedro del Libano”<\/h2>\n\n

Going up to the Cedar for years was an activity that characterized the nights of young residents in the area, which was once dramatically lacking in evening attractions.<\/p>\n\n

Today the short walk<\/a> is an interesting stop for lovers<\/strong> in search of inspiration: the large tree was in fact planted, back in 1856, to seal the love<\/strong> between Costanzo Falletti and Eulaia Della Chiesa.<\/p>\n\n

A love that had to be solid and deeply rooted<\/strong>, just like the Cedar Tree, which remains today to pass on the memory of the couple, an indelible sign (at least until they put a vineyard there) of the strength of this feeling.<\/p>\n\n

A Tour of the “Bosco dei Pensieri” (Thought Forest)<\/h2>\n\n

If you’re looking for a cozy, intimate place to take a stroll<\/strong>, you can follow the Bosco dei Pensieri trail in Fontanafredda<\/a>, among the last remaining intact woods<\/strong> in the Lower Langa region overwhelmed by the “race for Barolo.”<\/p>\n\n

Among century-old trees<\/strong> and hazelnut groves, clasped in an embrace of vineyards, the trail is divided into twelve stages, dedicated to themes such as “Silence,” “Thought,<\/strong>” “Contemplation,” and so on.<\/p>\n\n

And if the weather doesn’t play in your favor, you can always fall back with a visit to the very historic Fontanafredda wineries<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

At the Belvedere to enjoy the view<\/h2>\n\n

If contemplation is your thing, you can take your better half to one of the many viewpoints<\/strong> that dot our areas.<\/p>\n\n

And if the winter landscape of the Langhe lacks the lush charm of the summer period, what it lacks in greenery is all returned in atmosphere<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

With any luck you can enjoy a view made up of hills, terraces, and <\/strong>castles<\/a>, all brushed by the light mist rising from freshly plowed fields.<\/p>\n\n

One of the most beautiful viewpoints is the one in Verduno<\/a>, which allows your gaze to sweep<\/strong> as far as villages such as Serravalle and Roddino in Alta Langa. From here you can then drop by the Pelaverga<\/a> wine shop, just across the square, to enjoy a glass of the eponymous wine (an ultra-local specialty), or a hot genepi.<\/p>\n\n

Alternatively, nearby is the viewpoint of La Morra<\/a>, the highest village in the Bassa Langa, which, in terms of views, has nothing to envy to that of Verduno.<\/p>\n\n

After a short walk through the village, if you feel like it, you can head down to Barolo and pay a visit to the Sylla Sebaste<\/a> winery or the Francesco Borgogno<\/a> winery to taste a glass of Barolo DOCG and have a small aperitif.<\/p>\n\n

A stroll in Neive<\/h2>\n\n

Neive has been declared one of the 10 most beautiful villages in Italy<\/strong>, and it certainly deserves all this spatuss (this great pomp).<\/p>\n\n

Indeed, the town’s historic center is perfectly preserved<\/strong>, with its shrewdly restored medieval buildings and many small places to have a glass of wine (or hot chocolate, given the season).<\/p>\n\n

The narrow streets, buildings, and small churches and squares that characterize the village contribute to an intimate and evocative atmosphere<\/strong>, ideal for an afternoon stroll<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

If you don’t feel like cooking with your own hands, but still want to give your sweetheart aspecial experience<\/strong>, you can book a romantic dinner<\/a> at a local restaurant.<\/p>\n\n
