It is produced using Nebbiolo grapes in purity (varieties: lampia, michet and ros\u00e9) and has to be aged for at least three years, two in oak <strong>Slavonian \u00a0barrels<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The tannic component, due to the aging in wood and presents in the skin, is remarkable and helps making it a wine with a very good longevity, able to improve over time until reaching 15\/20 years.<\/p>\n<div class=\"content__image alignright size-full wp-image-4205\"><div class=\"ratio\"><div class=\"ratio__content\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-4205\" src=\"https:\/\/langhe.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Barolo_OresteStefano1-189x3001.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"189\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/langhe.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Barolo_OresteStefano1-189x3001.jpg 189w, https:\/\/langhe.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Barolo_OresteStefano1-189x3001-158x250.jpg 158w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 189px) 100vw, 189px\" \/><\/div><\/div><\/div>Among the Barolo&#8217;s production areas in the heart of the <strong>Langhe hills<\/strong>, we find the town of \u00a0Monforte d&#8217;Alba where is the family wine farm of Oreste Stefano that today offers us the Barolo D.o.c.g. 2008.<\/p>\n<h3>Tasting notes<\/h3>\n<p>Garnet red in colour with orange nuances, it is quite thick (look at the wine &#8220;tears&#8221; on the glass) and bright.<\/p>\n<p>The aroma is ethereal and elegant with typical spicy hints which remind of tobacco, leather and violet with vanilla perfumes as well.<\/p>\n<p>Full-bodied and dry in taste, very warm (14,5%) with soft fruit flavour. We can see a good balance among sapidity, tannins and alcohol that contribute the improvement and the strengthening of aromas over time.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s tasting this Barolo in its proper\u00a0<em>balloon\u00a0<\/em>glass, after two hours decantation, at the middle temperature of 18\/20 degrees and let&#8217;s combine it to very tasty and rich plates based on red meat, game, well aged cheese and cold cuts such as <a title=\"Boar with Barolo\" href=\"https:\/\/langhe.net\/recipes\/boar-with-barolo\/?lang=en&amp;lang=en\">wild boar with Barolo<\/a>, <a title=\"Braised\" href=\"https:\/\/langhe.net\/recipes\/brasato-with-barolo\/?lang=en&amp;lang=en\">braised<\/a> with polenta, <a title=\"Fondue with truffles\" href=\"https:\/\/langhe.net\/recipes\/fondue-with-truffles\/?lang=en&amp;lang=en\">truffle fondue<\/a>, mushrooms roast, mixed boiled or <a title=\"Castelmagno\" href=\"https:\/\/langhe.net\/819\/castelmagno\/?lang=en&amp;lang=en\">Castelmagno<\/a>, <a title=\"Raschera\" href=\"https:\/\/langhe.net\/1031\/raschera\/?lang=en\">Raschera<\/a> strong cheese.<\/p>\n<p>Have a good tasting!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Barolo is the world most popular red wine of Piedmont (known as the &#8220;King of wines&#8220;) for its personality and strenght.
