The Roero<\/strong> tells its story with a new voice: it’s called Rotaria<\/strong> and it’s the oenocultural project bringing together local producers<\/strong> with the aim of offering a shared and contemporary vision of the landscape, culture, and its emblematic grape, Nebbiolo<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

Born as an open forum, Rotaria aims to offer a new perspective on Roero<\/strong>, focusing on the richness of the soils<\/strong> and the sensitivity of those who interpret them daily.<\/p>\n\n

As Nicola <\/strong>Pasquero-Hilberg<\/a>, spokesperson for the collective and producer in Priocca<\/strong>, explains, the ambition is to highlight the complexity of the territory through a collective view that fully reflects its deep identity.<\/p>\n\n

The collective: a single vision<\/h2>\n\n

The heart of Rotaria is its community<\/strong>: eighteen entities representing the diversity of Roero<\/strong>, from historic names to younger energies, from companies rooted for generations to new experiments.<\/p>\n\n

The meaning of the name: a bridge between past and present<\/h2>\n\n

The name Rotaria<\/strong> has its roots in a medieval legend<\/strong> according to which the Lords of Roero are descended from the Lombard king R\u00f2tari<\/strong>: a story spanning almost 1400 years that the project chooses as a symbol of identity, belonging, and continuity.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Rotaria chooses to start from what most defines Roero, far beyond administrative boundaries: the land<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Rotaria chooses Nebbiolo as the common thread to compare and interpret the differences in soils<\/strong>, as it is the grape that most amplifies geological nuances.<\/p>\n\n

The simplified geological map<\/strong>, developed in 2023 by Nicola Pasquero together with Edmondo Bonelli<\/strong> and Gian Piero Romana<\/strong> based on part of the “Geoviticola Langa e Roero” map by Alessandro Masnaghetti<\/strong>, divides the territory into three major soil families, which become not only technical parameters but sensory keys<\/strong> to understand the different faces of Nebbiolo:<\/p>\n\n
