Once again this year September has arrived<\/strong>, reasonably considered by many the beginning of a new year<\/strong>: schools<\/strong> restart, academic<\/strong> years, sports seasons<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

For some, vacations have just ended<\/strong>, leaving the typical “back-to-work blues”; for others they are now an old memory<\/strong>; while there are those who, especially those working in tourism, haven’t even thought about it<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

For our territory, September is the month of<\/strong> harvest<\/a>, of Cheese<\/a>, but also the one when we prepare to welcome the large tourist flow<\/strong> brought by the International White Truffle Fair of<\/a> Alba<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

What happens in terms of events<\/a>, festivals<\/strong> and initiatives<\/strong> in this end of summer season? Spoiler: a lot of things. In this article we have made a selection<\/strong> for you. <\/p>\n\n

Festival of Asti Food Festivals <\/h2>\n\n

September 13 and 14<\/em><\/h4>\n\n

Among the most anticipated events of September is undoubtedly the Festival delle sagre astigiane<\/a>, which every year transforms Piazza Campo del Palio<\/strong> into Italy’s largest outdoor restaurant<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

Here, in over twenty wooden huts, the local Pro Loco organizations<\/strong> offer an authentic journey through time and Piedmontese culinary tradition<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Born in 1974 within the Douja d’Or<\/a>, the Festival is not just a gastronomic event but a true recreation of rural life from the past<\/strong>, capable of attracting thousands of visitors<\/strong> every year.<\/p>\n\n

Saturday, September 13<\/em><\/h4>\n\n

The medieval castle<\/strong> and the streets of the village of Roddi once again welcome Io, Barolo<\/a>, the event that celebrates the “king of wines”. <\/p>\n\n

As the afternoon draws to a close, about thirty producers<\/strong> bring their labels for tasting<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

Among the squares and gardens of the castle, it will be possible to discover Barolo from different vintages and crus<\/strong>, but also taste other wines from the territory<\/strong>, accompanied by gastronomic offerings that make the taste experience<\/strong> complete.<\/p>\n\n

Wineries Open Their Doors for the Harvest<\/h2>\n\n

September 13, 14, 20 and 21<\/em><\/h4>\n\n

Simply a must<\/strong>. You can’t say you’ve been to the Langhe<\/strong> if you haven’t visited at least one winery. <\/p>\n\n

Wineries Open Their Doors for he Harvest<\/a> is your chance to discover<\/strong> secrets, anecdotes, curiosities about the wine world<\/strong> during one of the peak periods of production<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Every visit is different, there are those who take you around the vineyards<\/strong>, those who offer you a panoramic terrace<\/strong> with a breathtaking view, those who let you taste among evocative barrels<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

You’ll taste extraordinary wines<\/strong> in a moment of unique sharing<\/strong> together with those who produce them and proudly tell you about them, helping you grasp the essence<\/strong> of what is considered the great heritage<\/strong> of this fortunate land. <\/p>\n\n

Cheese<\/h2>\n\n

September 19 to 21<\/em><\/h4>\n\n

The biennial cheese festival<\/a> returns to Bra, an unmissable event for enthusiasts<\/strong>, which as every year offers events<\/strong>, meetings and entertainment for everyone<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

There will be tastings, workshops and courses to taste and deepen knowledge of cheeses<\/strong> and many other products that combine unique flavors with the preservation of traditions and the protection of the landscape<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Visit to the Plaster Cast Gallery with Lunch<\/h2>\n\n

September 19 to 21<\/em><\/h4>\n\n

An opportunity to slow down and treat yourself to a different day<\/strong>: the Monteverde Plaster Cast Gallery<\/a> opens its doors and invites you to discover the works of sculptor Giulio Monteverde<\/strong>, through a journey that tells stories, forms and traditions. <\/p>\n\n

After the visit, the pleasure moves to the table<\/strong> with lunch at La Teca restaurant<\/a>, where the flavors of the territory become protagonists in genuine and seasonal dishes.<\/p>\n\n

The City Game <\/h2>\n\n

September 19 to 22<\/em><\/h4>\n\n

It’s like turning Alba into a great urban adventure<\/strong>: families, friends (or curious couples) can participate in the City Game<\/a>: you take a kit<\/strong> from the church, form a team and off you go through the historic alleys, hunting for clues among 14 stops scattered throughout the center<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

And if you’re adventurous, there’s also the Church of Games<\/a>: a mini-playful visit<\/strong> to San Giuseppe church<\/strong> with an attached underground archaeological path<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

After completing both modules, you can win the “Territory Treasure Chest<\/strong>” and earn a panoramic climb<\/strong> up the bell tower.<\/p>\n\n

Alta Langa Bike<\/h2>\n\n

Sunday, September 21<\/em><\/h4>\n\n

The Alta Langa bike tour<\/a> awaits you in Bossolasco<\/strong>, ready to let you experience 40 kilometers on quiet<\/strong> but scenic roads, between gentle curves and mild climbs with about 600 meters of elevation gain<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

You pedal together, following the evocative Romantic Road of the Langhe and Roero<\/strong>, with trees that tell stories, admiring the poetry of the landscape.<\/p>\n\n

Harvest festival<\/h2>\n\n

Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 September<\/em><\/h4>\n\n

Sunday, September 28 at Cascina Fontanette harvest is celebrated like in the old days<\/a>: you go to the vineyards to pick grapes<\/strong>, crush them barefoot and discover cellar and vineyards<\/strong> with a guided tour<\/strong> that tells the birth of wine<\/strong> in a simple and engaging way.<\/p>\n\n

After the work comes the reward<\/strong>: a lunch made of authentic flavors with cured meats, cheeses, peppers, ravioli al plin and hazelnut cake, accompanied by the wines of the farm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

The day is made even more lively by live music<\/strong> and activities for children<\/strong>, including entertainment, body-painting<\/strong> and drawings. A convivial and genuine<\/strong> occasion, to be experienced with family, friends or simply with the desire to celebrate autumn<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

Lunch in the Vineyard <\/h2>\n\n

Sunday, September 28<\/em><\/h4>\n\n

Noon among the vines<\/strong> at Cantina Drocco Luigi: first a light walk through the vineyards or by e-bike if you prefer to pedal independently, then you go down to the cellar where Roberto Drocco<\/strong> welcomes you with many stories about wine<\/strong> that comes from his vines.<\/p>\n\n

The aperitif is immediately tempting: five fine wines and appetizers that awaken the senses. Then comes the traditional lunch<\/a>, the one that feels familiar to the palate<\/strong> with the great classics of tradition. <\/p>\n\n

Coffee breaks and wine shopping in the winery add the final touch<\/strong>: a hot coffee, an extra glass and the possibility to choose a bottle to take home as a souvenir<\/strong>. In Piazza Risorgimento<\/strong>, among flags, period costumes and choreography studied down to the smallest detail, the Lady of Alba leads the entrance of the historical figures<\/strong> namely mayor, notary, scribe and captain of the people, up to the solemn oath<\/strong> and the symbolic delivery of the sword<\/strong>, the key<\/strong> and the medallion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n
