Now, add to this enchanting scenery a picnic<\/a>, all the better if gourmet<\/strong>: a culinary experience that combines the beauty of nature with the sophistication of Piedmontese cuisine.<\/p>\n\n

The gourmet picnic<\/h2>\n\n

In a gourmet picnic, every element, from the food <\/strong>to the location<\/strong>, is designed to create a unique experience<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

We are not talking about the usual sandwich with a small bottle of water, but a real meal<\/strong> with attention to detail<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

What to put in the basket then?<\/h3>\n\n

To organize a perfect gourmet picnic in the Langhe and Roero, it is essential to select high quality local products. <\/p>\n\n

For this reason, we enlisted the help of some chefs <\/strong>from Langhe and Roero, who offered their advice for an unforgettable picnic!<\/p>\n\n

We would like to thank Francesca<\/strong> from Il Banchetto<\/a> restaurant in Novello, Gabriele<\/strong> from Trattoria Belvedere Roero<\/a> in Monteu Roero, and Paola<\/strong> from Osteria dei Babi<\/a> in Canale for the exquisite insights they gave us!<\/p>\n\n

What are the perfect dishes to compose an ideal gourmet picnic basket?<\/h4>\n\n

ANDREA<\/span> \u2014 As a picnic idea, based on our preparations, veal tonnato <\/strong>served in a focaccia <\/strong>or sandwich<\/strong> comes to mind.<\/p>\n\n

Baked pasta<\/strong> also has its uses, but you would have to eat it hot, so it may be better to opt for simpler and more practical options.<\/p>\n\n

So, green light to cheeses, which are always a good idea, either au naturel or as a base for some mouth-watering dish: at this time in the restaurant we serve the Toumin dal mel<\/a><\/strong> and the Castelmagno<\/a><\/strong>, if you want to go for something more mature.<\/p>\n\n

Hazelnut cake<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n

To end on a sweet note, I propose the hazelnut cake<\/a><\/strong> classic, or a spoon dessert such as strawberry Bavarian<\/strong> cream, easily transportable even in a cooler, which absolutely cannot be missed by a bottle of bubbles, such asAlta Langa DOCG<\/a>, or Roero Arneis<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

Still talking about wine, if one were to opt for a red<\/strong>, I think a Nebbiolo<\/a> that has not aged in wood is ideal.<\/p>\n\n

paola<\/span> \u2014 We would propose an onion omelet<\/a>, simple but impressive. <\/p>\n\n

Then of course, being Piedmontese, the vitello tonnato<\/a> cannot be missed!<\/p>\n\n

Veal tonnato is a traditional Piedmontese dish<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n

As a tasty appetizer, a giardiniera<\/strong> made with a nice mix of seasonal vegetables or the classic stuffed eggs<\/a>; but since we are from Canale<\/a>, rabbit with roasted vegetables<\/strong> would be great! <\/p>\n\n

For dessert we recommend strawberries with Birbet<\/strong> (a partially fermented must made from Brachetto<\/a> grapes) or even plain or a tart! <\/p>\n\n

francesca<\/span> – Mainly appetizers come to mind: a small salad of Piedmontese toma cheese<\/a> with celery and walnuts or a small salad of chanterelle<\/strong>, with a touch of ginger, which makes it even fresher!<\/p>\n\n

To top it off, tart with berries<\/strong> and, why not, a glass of wine <\/strong>to make the picnic even more chic.<\/p>\n\n
