In Piedmont, and particularly in the Asti and Alba areas, it finds an <strong>excellent terroir<\/strong>. In the Langhe it is considered a <strong>traditional<\/strong>, almost <strong>family-like<\/strong>, <strong>variety<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The vine produces a red berry, with an ideal presence of coloring matter. It is characterized by a marked acidity that we also find in the wine.<\/p>\n<p>The Barbera d&#8217;Alba-Cascina Gramolere terroir is that of the Langhe,<strong> a territory with a very high wine vocation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The vineyard is cultivated<strong> fully respecting nature<\/strong> by following <strong>integrated pest management<\/strong>. The vines-per-hectare density is low and the green vegetation is checked mechanically. No herbicides or chemicals are used.<\/p>\n<p>The result is<strong> raw material of the highest quality<\/strong> that is enhanced in the cellar by Claudio Pressenda. The <strong>vinification<\/strong> (wine-making) is characterized by regular fermentation, <strong>short maceration<\/strong> time, aging in stainless steel tanks and <strong>a slight passage in wood<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Sensory analysis<\/h2>\n<h3>Color<\/h3>\n<p>This wine has a beautiful, <strong>bright and intense garnet red color<\/strong>, with excellent chromaticity.<\/p>\n<p>The viscosity is perfect, as are the tears. It is a <strong>very limpid wine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>Aroma<\/h3>\n<p>To the nose it is characterized by <strong>a spicy fragrance<\/strong>, of the highest level: <strong>fine<\/strong>, <strong>elegant<\/strong> and <strong>persistent<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The spicy note is given by the passage in wood and will evolve into even more interesting, <strong>balsamic fragrances<\/strong>, such as <strong>camphor<\/strong> and other wood essences.<\/p>\n<h3>Flavor<\/h3>\n<p>This is a full Barbera d&#8217;Alba; <strong>structured<\/strong>, <strong>warm<\/strong>, <strong>tannic<\/strong>, <strong>with great balance and body<\/strong> and with good persistence. It is a wine that evolves optimally. It has a good aging potential.<\/p>\n<h2>Serving and pairing<\/h2>\n<p>It should be <strong>served<\/strong> at a <strong>temperature<\/strong> ranging between <strong>18-20\u00b0C<\/strong>, in large glasses.<\/p>\n<p>La Barbera is a <strong>multi-faceted wine<\/strong> and goes quite well with all meat or vegetable based <strong>starters<\/strong>. It\u2019s ideal with<strong> pasta dishes<\/strong> such as agnolotti, ravioli del plin and risottos.
