The wine regulations concerning Piemonte Grignolino impose that it presents the following characteristics when it is released for marketing:
Fairly intense ruby red
Characteristic, delicate and fruity
Dry, slightly tannic and pleasantly bitterish
Minimum total alcohol content by volume: 11%
Minimum total acidity: 5‰
Sugar-free extracts: 19 g/litre.
