We are in Borgata Panerole, in Novello, along the road that leads to Monforte, area of production of the classic wines of the Langhe.
Here is the Raineri winery run by the three young owners Gianmatteo Raineri, Fabrizio Giraudo and Luciano Racca.
The philosophy is that of the great Piedmontese producers: respect for the vineyard, manual processing, selection of the best woods for refining and opening towards innovation.
For Gianmatteo and Fabrizio, the idea of turning the passion for wine into a profession is already clear during the years of the degree in Viticulture and Oenology.
The first 1000 bottles of Dolcetto di Dogliani are bottled in 2005. Barbera represents the next step.
The goal is clear and not long in coming: the 2006 harvest becomes the first vintage of Barolo and Langhe Nebbiolo, thanks to the vines present in Perno di Monforte d'Alba.
The products are successful, but it is with the arrival of Luciano Racca, sommelier with a strong international experience, that the company opens up to the foreign market.
Once the Raineri team was complete, the next step was the acquisition of the winery in Novello, obtained from the restructuring of a former candy factory.
In October 2018, the new tasting room was inaugurated to accommodate up to 40 people.
Reservation is mandatory to guarantee the best possible reception.
The visit to the Cellar is conducted by the owners assisted by Pietro and lasts about 1 hour and 30 minutes. During your stay you will discover the history, the corporate vision of work and production within the Unesco territory of which the company is a part.
The company is divided into three departments: vinification with steel tanks, aging with large and small French oak barrels, and storage at controlled temperature.
The tasting takes place in the new specially designed room and costs € 15.00 / person.

The most representative wines are the two types of Barolo and the Dogliani DOCG.
- Barolo DOCG classico: vinified in large casks, it has the characteristics of a typical Barolo, but it is easy to drink and appreciable by everyone.
- Barolo DOCG Monserra: assembly of two Cru vineyards: Perno and Castelletto. Vinified in barrique: 40% new and 60% second passage.
- Dogliani DOCG - cru Cornole: from the old vineyards of property we obtain a very structured wine vinified in steel and bottled without aging in wood.
Barbera and Langhe Nebbiolo are made of the grapes grown in Perno.
A curiosity is linked to the company logo where next to the vine is the goblin Barabìo: you will discover its origin during the visit!
In the vineyards
Sustainable agriculture in the vineyard, according to Raineri, starts by not using herbicides. The vineyard is maintained with the cutting of the grass and movement of the soil in the rows and inter-rows.
For treatments, only products based on copper and sulfur are used.
