La Tartufaia in Serradenari is a historical forest surrounded by the vineyards of La Morra, which extends over the "Barolo Mountain", where the highest Barolo in the world is found.
On this precious terrain, a natural habitat for the development of all mushrooms, some of the most precious fruits of the earth are created, such as the White Truffle from Alba, porcini mushrooms and other mushroom varieties.
Its 7.5 hectares of woodland are still a hunting ground for the Trifolao (Truffle hunters), who venture out into the night in search of the finest mushroom among the ancient trees where foxes, wild boars, badgers, roe deers, hares and owls find refuge.
Hunting for Truffles
The Trifolao and their faithful dogs look forward to meeting and accompanying you amongst the majestic Serradenari trees and to teach you the secrets of truffle hunting in an authentic setting where truffles grow naturally.
Upon your return, you'll visit our winery: the visit begins with a walk in the vineyards, to see first-hand the various work carried out, and then we move on to the wine-making and refining premises.
The tour ends with a guided tasting session of four great local wines.
Your pets are more than welcome, but they have to stay close to the winery so as not to disturb the Trifolao's dog during the hunt for truffles.
The Serradenari Winery
Next to the woods, there's the historic vineyard where the highest Barolo in the world is produced, a fresh, elegant wine of extraordinary quality.
Owned by the Negri family and run by Giovanni since 2001, the company represents an example of local craftsmanship excellence.
The wines produced and offered during the tasting session are available for direct sale at the winery.
