The Winery is located just a few steps away from the Treiso village center and a few kilometers from the enchanting Rocche dei Sette Fratelli.
Il Cravé, with its panoramic outdoor area overlooking the Langhe, offers quality and no frills products that reflect the sincere spirit of the owner Corrado Meinardi.
Located in the Barbaresco DOCG area which is generously recounted by Corrado, who is not scarce with words and anecdotes when it comes to talking about his wine.
As early as 1914, his great-grandfather produced a small amount of wine for family consumption, at a time when it wasn't uncommon to sell most of one's grapes.
The winery takes on a more modern connotation with grandfather Pietro, known as "Pierin".
Corrado followed his grandfather's vision and characteristics, inheriting his passion and knowledge; he graduated in 1989 at the Scuola Enologica di Alba (Alba Wine School) and has been leading the company since 1993.
Wine and Vineyards
The wine that is "worth the trip" is the Barbaresco DOCG, although the owner strongly believes in the potential of the Dolcetto.
His wines refine slowly and patiently, as naturally as is possible. The work is carried out by hand in the vineyard, whereas the tractor is used for eradicating weeds.
The grass that is cut remains among the rows as fertilizer and mulch material, capable of containing the growth of weeds.
The vineyard's treatments are increasingly targeted and minimized.
Visits to the winery
Guided tastings allow guests to taste the wine consciously as Corrado tells the story of both the company and its products.
Weather permitting we'll take a walk among the vineyard rows. During the walk you'll be able see the usual seasonal work being carried out: classic and green pruning, leaf-stripping, thinning shoots and grape harvesting.
The tasting session takes place in the small and characteristic underground "crutin" (cellar), the historic site of the company, which maintains a constant temperature throughout the entire year.
During the warm seasons, the outdoor area overlooking the UNESCO hills will allow you to enjoy an evocative atmosphere in total relaxation.
